From 10 -13 October, the Australasian Land and Groundwater Association (ALGA) will host its 2023 flagship event, Ecoforum/SustRem, with the theme “Meeting the Challenges for a Sustainable Future” at the Melbourne Flemington Racecourse on 10-13 October 2023. For the first time, Ecoforum will be a joint conference with SustRem, an international conference focused on Sustainable Remediation.

Themes and Speakers
Across three days (10-12 October) delegates will hear from more than 130 speakers, local and international, tackling subjects that matter including: Emerging Contaminants, Policy and Regulation, Post Conflicts Contaminant Management, Climate Change, Circular Economy, Social Sustainability and much more. ALGA has called upon experts from the contaminated land and groundwater industry, both local and international, to share best practices, innovation and the latest research. The speakers represent Australia, New Zealand, USA, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Switzerland and the UK.

Trajan and ADE Lab Tours
In partnership with Trajan Scientific and Medical, we invite attendees to join our exclusive Laboratory Tours that will run in the afternoon sessions. It’s a chance to go beyond the presentations and witness the science in action!
The tour will give a detailed insight into Portable Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (P-LCMS), developed in partnership with Trajan Scientific. It’s a groundbreaking technique that enables us to bring a compact laboratory to the field, capable of detecting and quantifying PFAS in soil and water. Some typical applications include the rapid, dynamic delineation of PFAS soil hotspots or groundwater plumes, tracking PFAS sources or assessing PFAS mass flux and surges on a temporal basis through drainage systems or surface water.
