His perspective on working with clients centres on ensuring the achievement of the best outcomes on a given project whilst maintaining transparency, open communication and efficiency. 

With a strong background in environmental science, chemistry, laboratory methods and geotechnical engineering, as well as vast experience across projects of all scales, Ross’ knowledge and skill enable an approach that is both unique and innovative. 

His qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (Environmental) and Master of Professional Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering) from University of Sydney.

He previously worked as a State, National, International & General Manager with a number of major Australian and international consultancies.

Bruce specialises in assessment, management and remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater, completing over 600 projects.

Prior to joining ADE Consulting Group, Andrew was General Manager at Ecology and Heritage Partners. Before that, Andrew’s management experience included leadership roles at Coffey International Pty Ltd (TetraTech) as Regional General Manager, and Managing Partner at Environmental Resource Management (Vic/Tas).

In undertaking these roles Andrew has been involved in managing a broad range of disciplines and services within key sectors and industries in the marketplace.

Operations Manager - PCA

Philip Ferguson is the Operations Manager of Pipeline Condition Assessment (PCA) as well as being a Principal Consultant with over 30 years’ experience in technical marketing, project management and business unit management in the water industry. 

He is recognised internationally for being involved in projects throughout Australia, South East Asia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong. Philip’s work has included investigations in collaboration with water authorities such as Sydney Water Corporation, Melbourne Water Corporation, Public Utilities Board Singapore and Water Supply Department HSAR, to name a few.

Philip is a science graduate of UNSW, and Fellow HKIUS.

Andrew Mitchell

National Environmental Lead

Andrew is an environmental engineer with 25 years of experience in regulation, policy, emergency management, pollution incidents and site contamination. He has a deep understanding of the needs and priorities of clients facing challenges with both legacy contaminated sites and contemporary pollution events.

Andrew currently leads the NSW Environmental Services team at ADE.

His qualifications include a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering from UNSW and an Executive Master of Public Administration from ANZSOG.

Kourosh Kianfar

Kourosh Kianfar

National Geotechnical Lead

Kourosh has extensive analytical, numerical, and experimental experience in geotechnical engineering.  He has worked in the areas of project management, ground improvement, slope stability and excavation modelling and assessment, interpretation of subsurface conditions, site investigation management, numerical modelling, assessment of soil and rock parameters for foundation design, and soft soil improvement design.

Kourosh has been a member of design teams and/or project manager on many major projects since 2008, including the Pacific Highway Upgrade, Albion Park Rail Bypass, Berry to Bomaderry Upgrade, Shell Cove Boat Harbour, Haywards Bay Development, and Manildra’s Packing Plant.

Kourosh completed his PhD degree in geotechnical engineering (soft soil improvement via vertical drains and vacuum preloading) with the University of Wollongong (Australia) in 2012, and worked as a university lecturer for about 13 years overseas, as well as tutoring in various  geotechnical subjects at the University of Wollongong between 2007 and 2012. He is also currently an Honorary Research Academic at the University of Wollongong (UOW) and University of Technology Sydney (UTS).

State Health & Safety Lead (NSW)

Marjetica has over 30 years’ experience in the environmental and process engineering consulting arena with extensive and broad understanding in technical review, project and portfolio management, continual improvement, good governance and in the teaching-learning spaces of specialist secondary, tertiary education and professional training and development. She has been the process engineer, multidisciplinary project manager or project director in a wide range of projects, including: formulating the earliest NSW policies for PCBs, hazardous materials, wastes, and Industry Guidance; hazardous materials, asbestos removal and management plans; contaminated site investigations; water treatment and re-use; design/provision of technical and operational training programs; embedding EMS, QA and project program & management protocols. Having lived and worked in NSW, the UK and SE Asia, she has held positions within UNSW academia as a Consultant and with multinational, multidisciplinary organisations: in NSW as Petroleum Lead; within a leading UK civil contracting firm as Principal Environmental Engineer, latterly Tenders and Projects Manager.

Marjetica is currently the State Health & Safety Lead for NSW.  ADE’s Health & Safety Services department delivers solutions across hazardous building materials, air quality, lighting, noise & vibration assessments, hazard and exposure risk assessments, and wields a strong team of SafeWork NSW and ACT – Licenced Asbestos Assessors supported by a growing contingent of asbestos and occupational hygienists.

Her qualifications from UNSW include a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Hons) and a Master of Engineering by research in nanofiltration and industrial wastewater treatment.

Principal Environmental Consultant

Santo Ragusa is a Principal Environmental Consultant with over 30 years’ experience in the environmental field with a broad science background in academia and industry. Santo has technical specialist expertise in assessment and remediation of contaminated land and groundwater, having developed innovative techniques to conserve/reuse water and rehabilitate sites using chemical and microbiological methods. He has expertise in landfill compliance monitoring and reporting, in addition to development of waste exemptions and orders.

His qualifications include Bachelor of Science (1st Class Honours) and Doctor of Philosophy (Applied Science). He is also a Certified Environmental Practitioner in Site Contamination (CenvP, SC 41129).

Stephen Bowly

Principal Environmental Consultant

Stephen is an environmental consultant, practicing for over 25 years in Sydney, who is committed to making a better environment for New South Wales and empowering his colleagues to be the best they can be. He understands the range of environmental issues currently faced by industry and government and is able to create and manage environmental teams to assess, solve and deliver the best environmental outcomes.

He has managed and been involved with some of Australia’s most significant environmental projects including: Defence Williamstown PFAS groundwater contamination, Orica Botany chlorinated and mercury contamination, BHP Newcastle steelworks site remediation and Maralinga nuclear testing ground remedial works.

Stephen has the capability to project manage large and complex projects and collaborate with various stakeholders and regulatory agencies to ensure gainful environmental outcomes. He currently manages an array of projects, undertaking contamination, waste and ecological assessments, as well as managing demolition and remediation works – and he loves his job!

Shi Kai Lam

Shi Kai Lam

Principal Occupational Hygienist

Shi Kai has over 40 years of experience in Australia and overseas in a variety of fields such as OH&S legislation enforcements, occupational hygiene consultancy, asbestos analysis, training and teaching, and risk assessments.

He has recently been appointed as a lecturer by several tertiary institutions, including at the University of Greenwich in the UK and the University of Western Sydney.

Shi Kai has been certified in Australia, the USA and Hong Kong, with his particular specialties being in dust and chemical hazards evaluation and mitigation, as well as training course development in the relevant fields.

Dr. Matthew Askeland

Senior Environmental Scientist & PFAS Specialist

Matthew Askeland is an environmental scientist active in the consultancy sector as a contaminated site specialist. He holds key expertise pivotal in the delivery of contaminated land and water solutions, including site characterisation, risk assessment and remediation (Petrochemicals, VOC, PFAS, PCBs, PAHs, Pesticides and Heavy Metals).

Matthew’s current focus is on tackling multiple elements within the PFAS risk management practice. These include site characterization, sample analysis, risk assessment, OHS risk management, treatment technologies and the development of effective management strategies for both legacy and ongoing PFAS use.
