ADE provided expert and technical insight for environmental, geotechnical and waste classification services. The project consisted of the construction of 15.5km bored running tunnels including cross packages from Chatswood beneath Sydney Harbour through Sydney’s Central Business District to Marrickville, including several new stations and underground platforms at Central Station.
Environmental investigative works from ADE included comprehensive and complex waste classification, sampling and validation of asbestos and chemically impacted soil materials. They also involved ground gas well installations with sampling events of landfill gases, desktop review and site walkover inspection for development of a preliminary site investigation, validation preparation and reporting, as well as applications and approval by the NSW EPA for multiple site-specific resource recovery exemptions.
